In order to decide which of the Swiss teams would represent Switzerland at the 2024 World Championships in Sydney (Canada), a selection decision was made based on the points accumulated during the season. To be more precise, the points were added up as follows:
25% of the points from last year
The best 6 tournaments of this season (23/24), of which four Grand Slams are counted and consequently two further tournaments at which a team was able to score the most points this season
Our points were compiled as follows:
25% from the 22/23 season: 103,750
AMJ Campbell Shorty Jenkins Classic: 41,250
European Championship: 67,500
GSOC Hearling Life Tour Challenge: 30,000
GSOC Boost National: 42,500
GSOC Masters: 55,000
GSOC Co-op Canadian Open: ? (January 16 - 21)
Total: 340.000
Thanks to our very good results in the current season, we have already qualified for the World Championships at an early stage. No other Swiss team will be able to catch up with us in terms of points in the coming weeks. As a result, SWISSCURLING announced on December 21 that Team Tirinzoni would be representing Switzerland at the 2024 World Curling Championships. The World Championships will take place from March 16 to 24, 2024 in Sydney, Canada.
